Canik TP9SFX Review

Canik TP9SFX Review

Depending on the model, Canik pistols are competitively priced. Canik pistols have a lot of appeal to buyers who require a top-quality gun without the expense.

Serrations for slides on the TP9SFX Whiteout increase shooting accuracy as well as provide grip when you are racking the slides. Furthermore, the accessory rail makes it easy to install a gun light.

Here are a few examples of

The Canik T9SFx is a low-cost gun with features that have superior feel and look. It sports a match quality barrel, a reversible ambidextrous slide stop, decocker as well as a chamber indicator. Also, it comes with the rear and front serrations as well as an MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail. The trigger can be integrated along with a slot to mount red-dots sights.

The TP9SFx is extremely comfortable to hold. The textured side of the gun is an amazing attribute. However, for some people with extremely sweaty hands or a slippery skin it may cause issues. Two rows of the outer and middle ones have a lower profile, and therefore do not have the ability to grasp the fingers. The rest of the texture, however, is useful in a variety of situations.

It comes with a reversible magazine release that is ambidextrous, which is great for left-handed users. It does however sit too far back, so a left-handed user will likely have the use of their thumb onto the frame in order to rack the slide by hand. It’s a bit odd compared to other pistols that do this in the same way.

Yet it’s worth noting that this Canik has been reliable in my testing. It’s capable to shoot respectable groups at 7, 10 and 15 yards, using 115-grain FMJ ammunition. Additionally, it has a good ergonomics and a quick timer that resets a single-action trigger.

It’s a good alternative for those who want to get a range gun that is reliable and has a lot of features.

The TP9SFx pistol can be described as a amazing weapon. However, there are a buycanik few areas where it can be done better. The Cerakote work is not the finest and it will not last very long in comparison to other premium firearms from brands like Grey Ghost Precision. It also features well-groomed surfaces on the slide, which quickly reveal from holster wear, unlike others that sport smoother surfaces. This is an affordable price to pay for an excellent pistol, especially considering the cost at which it’s offered.

Table

Canik TP9SFX is an optics-ready competition pistol that comes straight out of the box, easy to shoot and durable. It comes with two chambers that flush fit with 18 rounds with an installed +2 extension meaning you will have 20 rounds per magazine. This magazine comes with additional 10 rounds of capacity limit-capacity magazine to meet any local law.

Canik also offers a METE SFT as well as an SFx Rival that are built specifically for shooting competition in the civilian market out of the box in comparison to the original TP9 SFX variant. They have upgraded features such as fiber sights lightening cut on the slide and a slightly longer barrel. These are great options that are ideal for USPSA Open and Carry Optics Division shooters.

The Canik’s TP9SFX has been tested in 15 yards, using various factory ammunition. It is capable of delivering respectable groups for most loads I tried, even the more challenging hollow-point ammunition. It’s slightly more sensitive to bullets with lighter weights however it still produced groups lower than 2.5 inches.

It is comfortable to hold in your hand. It sports an 5.2″ barrel and 20-round magazines. This gives it heft but the grip is a comfortable one to hold. There are indentation marks on the backstrap buycanik so that you can rest your thumb for a better trigger grip and the index is textured that can be used as a support hand. The only negative is that the magwell isn’t flared that could cause issues on certain stages of the production class of the USPSA.

It’s made from smooth-faced aluminum, with serrated vertical surfaces which provide some grip. It is easy to control and offers the comfort that many shooters like. The hammer also is made of aluminum and features serrations that provide some grip. It has some knurling, but not quite the aggressive feel as a Beretta.

FAQ

The Canik TP9SFx is a great pistol that has been made for competitive use right from the beginning. The Canik TP9SFx is a sturdy pistol which shoots flat and also comes with optical mount plates. The MSRP is $550.

It comes with numerous of the same characteristics that are found in a USPSA Production Class firearm with an adjustable magwell with an ambidextrous charging handle as well as Warren Tactical sighting. Additionally, it comes with a 5.2” match barrel as well as two 20-round magazines. This is a great choice for shooting competitions, specifically for the USPSA Carry Optics Division. The gun can also be used in the Open Class, using guns like the Glock34 if you really would like to upgrade your gun.

The TP9SFx from Canik is a great pistol. It has a few points I’d like to see improved, but it’s still an amazing pistol. It has a great trigger, and is one of the best subcompact pistols with striker firing in the marketplace. The grip is also good as are the ergonomics. It’s however not as comfortable to shoot like the Glock. This is due to its an extra-large slide, and weighs much more than Glock.

The magazine is a different thing I’m not a fan of. It’s quite long and also has a weird shape to it. If you’re carrying a holster that is positioned close to your body, it might be difficult to reach it and take the magazine off. It is particularly true for the left-handed versions of the pistol.

The grips have a lack of traction. It can cause problems when you’re sweaty or if your stippling is wet.

The Cerakote finish of this gun is poor at the very least. It’s not very durable well in comparison to premium Cerakote that is found on firearms from brands such as Grey Ghost Precision. The finish wears out a little too quickly and its color fades rapidly. The finish does a decent job of removing dirt and debris, however it’s not so durable as I’d have preferred to find on a gun that is going to be in a harsh setting.

Conclusions

Canik TP9SFX is a top-of-the-line competitive pistol that is priced at an affordable cost. It is available in different colors along with many accessories to customize the shooting experience. The gun is suitable for many different applications including firearm competitions and for defence at home.

This pistol features an extended slide lock/release that helps shooters hold the gun while loading it. This is suitable for shooters shooting left hand. The attention to detail demonstrates that Canik takes care of its customers and wants customers to operate the gun in the most efficient way.

Another excellent feature of Canik TP9SFX is its slide serrations. They reduce the load of the slide and help you manipulate it better. There’s also an edging on the bottom of the barrel for weapons-mounted lasers and lights. It’s an excellent feature for people who want to make their targets appear brighter and be able see them when firing at some distant distance.

A majority of TP9 models are equipped with an iron set that is basic sights, but some have the option of a green and red fiber optic front sight to increase sightlines when shooting at an extended distance. Also, there is an adjustable rear sight that can be used for mounting various red-dot optics, creating a diverse and competitive gun. A few TP9 Elite Combat pistols come equipped with the Vortex Viper Red-Dot Sight from the manufacturer.

While it has a plethora of options, there are some areas where the Canik TP9SFX is not quite up to scratch. Cerakote is among the characteristics that wear more quickly than other premium finishes. As time passes, the Glock Knuckle may develop marks on the gun.

Another issue is the trigger. Although the trigger on the TP9SFX is extremely soft, it’s still not clear. It can cause problems for shooters who shoot large rounds or compete. This can be a problem for people with smaller hands, who might find it challenging to pull the trigger.
